15 Best Beauty Tips From the November Issue of Allure

Roughen up your waves like Kate Hudson's hair on our cover.
No brushes were involved in this shoot: To encourage messy, textured waves like the ones hairstylist Odile Gilbert created for Hudson, use only your fingers to rough-dry your hair, lifting sections along your crown and hairline and blasting the roots with a blow-dryer for volume.

Pull off red eye shadow like Cara Delevingne.
"The key is to use a neutral shadow as a base," says makeup artist Molly R. Stern, who works with Delevingne. "If you put the bright color directly on your skin, the look is going to feel too raw." Blend taupe or brown over the lid, then top it with blazing orange, magenta, or red, buffing out the color at the outer corner to make it soft and hazy.
